Dr. Wyatt Winchell is Nevada born & raised, and the teams equine veterinarian specialist. Bringing 25 years of horse medical experience, he believes being an equine veterinarian is a job of strength, knowledge, and most importantly passion. With an extensive training background, he spent 11 years total in school at three different universities: Ohio State University, Colorado State University, and the University of Nevada, Reno. He gathered much of his experience from a one year internship at Rood Riddle Equine Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky.
Along with his knowledge, he decided to specialize in becoming a surgeon, and spent some time in a surgical residency at Ohio University. Not only did he expand his skill set in surgery and specialized in lameness while at Ohio University, he also went on to be a clinical instructor with the school in emergency care and orthopedics for a few years to share his experience with others. Dr. Winchell is currently a practicing equine vet at Desert Pines Equine Medical and Surgical Center.
